Description
Black finish, D2 core.
The dark coating is there for two reasons: it cuts reflection, and it protects the steel underneath from the moisture that makes high-carbon blades spot.
Underneath, D2 does the work: a high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel with strong wear resistance. It is the steel you choose when you would rather sharpen less often.
A pocket folder for hunting, fishing and daily carry.
Care: wipe dry after use. If the coating wears through at the edge, oil that area.
Curious how D2 steel compares with S30V and M390 on edge holding, rust resistance and sharpening effort? Our comparison of D2, S30V and M390 explains the trade-offs in plain terms.
