Description
Copper Damascus is a different animal.
Most Damascus is steel on steel. Copper Damascus layers copper into the billet, which is why the figure across this blade carries a warm tone you will not get from an all-steel blade. It is harder to make and it shows.
The handle is ox bone, dense and finely finished, holding the blade in a frame that feels solid rather than hollow.
Handmade, and built to be carried rather than shelved. It is a collectible that still cuts.
Care: copper-bearing steel wants a dry blade and a light oil film. Do not let it sit wet.
Want to know what pattern-welded Damascus actually is, how the pattern is made, and how to keep it from rusting? Our guide to Damascus steel covers all of it.
