Description
D2 is the steel people reach for when they want an edge that stays.
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel with a high chromium content, which is why it holds an edge far longer than the common stainless steels used in budget folders. It is not the easiest steel to sharpen, but it does not need sharpening often.
The handle is wood, shaped for a full grip and finished smooth.
A working pocket knife: hunting, camping, and the day-to-day jobs that dull a cheap blade in a season.
Care: D2 is not fully stainless. Wipe it dry and oil it, especially after wet work.
Curious how D2 steel compares with S30V and M390 on edge holding, rust resistance and sharpening effort? Our comparison of D2, S30V and M390 explains the trade-offs in plain terms.
