VG10 core, Damascus cladding, stabilized wood scales.
VG10 is a cobalt-alloyed stainless steel with a long record in premium cutlery: it takes a fine edge and holds it, and because it is stainless it shrugs off the rust that punishes high-carbon blades in damp weather. Here it is layered into a Damascus billet, so you get the working properties of VG10 with the figure of pattern-welded steel on the surface.
The handle is stabilized wood — hardwood impregnated with resin under vacuum. That process fills the grain, so the scales will not swell, shrink or split the way untreated wood can when the seasons change, and the finish stays sealed through rain and sweat.

Care
Wipe the blade down after use and keep a light film of oil on the Damascus cladding. The stabilized handle needs no feeding — just avoid prolonged soaking.
